  My partner took her car down for a puncture repair. There was screw in a tyre with a good 20000 km service life left in it. They upsold her to a new tyre and supplied a cheap bad quality budget brand tyre. I suspect the tyre brand that provides the best profit margin to the shop. Worse they left her with two different brands of tyres on the rear axle, this is illegal in some states and is not approved practice by the RACQ in QLD. I guess they are hoping she will go back to get another of the poor quality tyres so she will have a matched set in the future. Not a chance!

  I also checked the torque setting on the wheel nuts. Ford, the manufacturer recommend 100NM. They should know they designed the car. K-Mart Auto Capalaba torqued the nuts to 170 NM, 70% over tightened! This has a couple of downsides. 1. Nobody is going to be able to remove the wheel with the cars tool kit. 2.Worse, it can cause mechanical damage to studs, hubs and brake discs. This is sheer incompetence and negligent practice. For goodness sake use a torque wrench when fitting wheels to cars and have the specified torque setting on hand to refer to.

  Easy, cheap and did a good job. Service came with free 6 month Allianz roadside assist which I have already used when I ran my battery flat! Good work

  I recently had my Outlander serviced here. I was greeted with great service from David, who explained the costs very well, and followed up by delivering what he said he would, i.e. called/text me when needed (I didn't have call in to get an update - like some service stations!)
