  My husband has very limited knowledge of electronics. Went to buy a connection for his Tom Tom and came back with the connection as well as a plug (he didn't need) for the power point. Taking the manager for his word, he brought it home and opened it all up to connect it to the Tom Tom but couldn't put it together. I went back to get help from the manager and return the plug. He was able to put the connection into the Tom Tom, but would not give a refund for the plug, as the packaging was no longer in its original state, it was cut along one side. I found this very unsatisfactory and unacceptable as the item was unused, we didn't need it as we already had one, and it was over-priced. He flatly refused a refund referring to his company policy. I would not recommend him to anyone and will never shop there again. We have been customers of Auto Barn (across the road) which is a family run business for many years and their customer service is over and above Jaycar Electronics.

  Staff are rude and unhelpful, didn't want to take the time to assist me with my needs, or simply lacked the knowledge to do so.

  Be careful! Staff try to upsell items you just dont need lmaf! On day, I asked for a speaker to replace a damaged car Bluetooth speaker (got one off ebay =$3) tried to sell me a waterproof Bluetooth speaker box $249 wtf ! 100% not want I asked for. Got two RCA plug, soldering iron and solder (less then $30) try to sell me a"kit" he put together (around $80) when I said No "oh your on a budget!" Lmaf No I just dont need to spend that much on something I will use twice a year, then changed me for 3 RCA's! See you tomorrow for a refund mate!

  Rude staff and horrible customer service. The workers would rater chat to each other than serve me. Very unprofessional and expensive store. I wish there was a better place to buy small electronic components when I can't wait for online shipping, but there just isn't.
